Focus on Judaism: Capturing Images of

Our Customs and Our People

Har Zion Temple -- Penn Valley, PA

(THIS COURSE TOOK PLACE DURING THE WINTER OF 2010)

During this four-session digital photography course, we will take a look at some of Judaism’s rituals, holidays, prayer and people through your camera lens with professional photographer Jay Gorodetzer. Jay will help you see things differently and explain how to take meaningful photos. We’ll talk about composition, lighting, editing and telling a story with a photograph. This course will help you learn how to get “the right” picture. During the classes, we’ll document Jewish life at Har Zion including holidays, morning minyan, weekday Torah reading, and more. This course is geared towards those with intermediate or better photography skills. Some photography on your own time will be suggested. Must have a digital camera and a computer (desktop or laptop) with picture editing software.

Jay Gorodetzer has also taught Photojournalism at Perkiomen Valley South Elementary School as a Pennsylvania Artist-In-Residence and as a Teaching Assistant at Penn State.
